Password Prompt Dalam Mac OS X 05.11.09

Dalam Mac OS X, setiap installation dan setting yang memerlukan akses ke system file akan meminta pengguna memasukkan kata laluan. Ini adalah disebabkan kerana ciri – ciri keselamatan dalam Mac OS X yang dibangunkan berasaskan Unix.

Satu sebab mengapa Windows XP terdedah kepada ancaman virus adalah kerana suatu aplikasi boleh dipasang walaupun tanpa kebenaran pengguna. Namun, ciri keselamatan tersebut telah dipertingkatkan dalam Windows Vista dan Windows 7.

Dalam Mac OS X, ciri tersebut bukan suatu option untuk pengguna berbanding dalam Vista/7, pengguna boleh membuat pilihan masing – masing.

Bagaimana menghilangkan password prompt dalam Mac OS X?

There is no way to disable this. There is no way for Apple to fix this either, considering the issue is related to one of the most fundamental features of Unix – file ownership and permissions. It’s been around since the ’70s, and it’s not going to change.

The issue will go away as many developers learn that they actually do not need to write data to sensitive parts of the file system to provide full functionality, and hence their installers will not ask you to elevate your privileges when writing files.

Those apps that you download that just get “dragged into the Applications folder” without requiring a password? Those developers understand how it’s done.

If you disable installation authentication, that’s leaving your computer wide open to having malware installed without your knowledge.

Authentication is one reason why Mac OS X is less prone to these sorts of attacks.
